Chop Suey

Ingredients

  • lean ground meat of your choice (1 lb.)
  • salt (1/2 teaspoon)
  • pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
  • medium yellow onion, sliced (1)
  • celery stalk, sliced (1)
  • small broccoli florets (1 cup)
  • red bell pepper, sliced (1/2)
  • green onions, cut into 1/2" chunks (2)
  • soy sauce (3 tablespoons)
  • toasted sesame oil (2 tablespoons)
  • bean sprouts (6 cups)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in large wok (or sauté pan) over high heat. Add meat, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned, 7-8 minutes.
  2. Add onion, celery, and mushrooms. Cook 3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add broccoli, bell pepper, and green onions. Sauté 30 seconds.
  4. Stir in soy sauce and sesame oil.
  5. Add bean sprouts and cook 30 seconds more. Serve immediately
