Oven-Cooked Italian Sausage

Instructions

  1. Cooking temperatures and times (the higher the temp, the more you risk over browning the outside skin):
    • 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes.
    • 400 degrees F/200 degrees C: 20 to 25 minutes
    • To cook from frozen, add 10 minutes to cooking time.
    • Cook to an internal temp of 160.
  2. Line a shallow baking sheet with nonstick aluminum foil.
  3. Place the sausage links on the baking sheet. Line them up side by side, leaving space in between each link.
  4. Place the baking sheet on the middle rack of the oven to ensure even cooking..
    • Note that thicker sausages may need to bake longer. Extremely large or thick links may need to be baked anywhere from 40 to 60 minutes. If cooking them this long, however, you should turn the sausages at least once.
  5. Remove the links from the oven once they start to brown. The tops of the Italian sausage links should be lightly browned, but not charred.
