1. PSYC2406 - Introduction to the Study of Personality
Students will be introduced to the study of personality theory and personality development. The course will provide a broad overview of the major current and historical perspectives on personality such as: psychoanalytic, neo-analytic, biological, behavioral, social-cognitive, humanistic, trait and interactionist.
Prerequisite: PSYC 1106/1107. Students may not receive credit for both PSYC 2406 and PSYC 3006. (lec 3) (3cr)
2. PSYC4205 - Fundamentals of Clinical and Counseling Psychology
An introduction to psychology in applied settings with an emphasis on the mental health field. Clinical assessment procedures, including psychometric devices, are examined as are the major theoretical positions in counselling and psychotherapy. Students are introduced to the scope of the work of the clinical psychologist in sessions with practitioners in the field. (LEC 3)
Prerequisite: Completion of at least 42 credits in psychology in the specialized programme including PSYC 3606 E/3607 E or 3006 E/3007 E, or completion of 90 credits in the Behavioural Neuroscience programme, or permission of the department.
